TRAGIC DEATH OF SHIVA
3 weeks after the tragic death of Shiva I still don’t know what was her real reason to be with us?
As when you choose a name you better be checking the different meaning of it!
Was she the week-long of mourning and grief in Judaism or the god of destruction of self and ego in Hinduism!
What I know for sure is that thinking of her I have this huge knot in my whole body and deep wound in my heart.
I also have the memory of her infinite and immeasurable love as well as her extreme sweetness.
In the six years of her life on earth with us she had survived 3 serious accident and 3 miracles happened but not four!
She died of this strong and unstoppable desire to perpetrate life: an egg yolk got stuck in her abdomen. over night she was gone!
What she gave was unique and very rare ,she was the only one of all of our cockatiels (and we have 20 of them) to come every day in our hand and put her head down beside, her feet holding on to our fingers ,she would be completly covered into the palm and totally abandoned waiting to be caress and kissed,(look at the photo on the website!)
Then she will start sounds of extreme pleasure and gratitude.
This extraordinary way of behaving has touched us for ever.
She will also come every morning before everybody was awake on my shoulder and repeat the same head pattern completely down ready to fall on me ,so I could caress her back and the top of her head as well as her cheeks and below her beak.
She did it until the last minute even being so weak and dying .It is in this position we found her ,like when she asked for being caressed!
Even if I don’t know the real meaning of her name what I know for sure Shiva you were an angel and you returned with them.
Your mate Nuage is missing you as we do and is acting very differently and is depressed!
We loved you and will always love you!

EXPERIENCE OF A VOLUNTEER AT CLOA'S ARK ANIMAL SANCTUARY

I met Claudine and Patrick Veistroffer about two years ago.

On this first meeting the couple’s love for

animals was evident as Patrick spoke softly to a hen nestled on his shoulder

and Claudine gently cradled

another hen in her arms.
